This Privacy Policy explains how Equity Impact Fund (“EIF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our websites, donor portals, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the “Services”).

1) Information we collect

Information you provide: name, email, phone, address, donation details, limited payment details such as card type or last four digits, account credentials, communications and preferences, event registrations and surveys, and sponsored project information if you apply for or manage a project.

Information collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP, and data from cookies or similar technologies used for security, analytics, and to remember settings.

Information from third parties: payment processors, fraud prevention partners, address verification services, publicly available records, and partners that help us maintain accurate contact and donation records.

2) How we use information

We use personal information to receive and process donations, issue tax receipts, operate fiscal sponsorship and grants, create and manage accounts, communicate acknowledgments and updates, improve the Services, perform analytics, maintain security, detect and prevent fraud, comply with law and audit obligations, and enforce our Terms and agreements.

If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

3) Donations, receipts, and variance power

All donations to EIF are gifts to EIF for its charitable purposes. Donor preferences for a particular sponsored project are nonbinding recommendations. EIF retains exclusive legal control over contributed funds and full discretion and variance power to modify any restriction if it becomes unnecessary, impossible, impracticable, or inconsistent with our mission or law. EIF issues official tax receipts.

4) How we share information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers and processors that assist with payment processing, IT, security, analytics, communications, and fulfillment.
  • Sponsored projects as needed for charitable activities, stewardship, and reporting, subject to EIF oversight and this Policy.
  • Professional advisors, auditors, and insurers for legal, tax, and compliance purposes.
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Successor organizations in connection with a reorganization or similar event, subject to this Policy.
  • We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising without consent.

5) Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar tools to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure performance. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Where required, we present a consent banner. We honor Global Privacy Control signals for jurisdictions that recognize them.
